DESCRIPTION:Our community at The Witney Business and Innovation Centre will be holding another collection for Witney and West Oxfordshire Foodbank. During the summer holidays many families face increased financial difficulty. Many families can lean on free school meals during term time\, the absence of this safety net in the summer holidays can pose significant difficulties for many households. \nIn 2022 Witney and West Oxfordshire Foodbank provided 5753 People with three-day emergency food packages and assistance to individuals facing crises in the UK\, 2\,352 of these being for children. David Tomlinson\, a seasoned entrepreneur with expertise in building\, purchasing\, and selling his own businesses\, will provide personal insights and practical strategies for exit preparation. David Peddy\, founder of SIGH\, a company established for the purpose of acquiring other businesses with a long-term exit view\, will also share his perspectives. \nSpeaker: \nDavid Tomlinson\, Managing Director\, Anda Health \nAfter studying maths at Gonville and Keyes\, David started work with McKinsey in the US\, travelling widely and maintaining a study programme up to\, and including\, post-doctoral research. He returned to the UK and headed up Fujitsu and Virgin Media and subsequently moved into building\, buying and selling his own companies. \nDavid is now a member of a philanthropic group of individuals\, under Anda Health\, that are looking to support innovative medical research with seed funding and access to clinical\, governance and commercial expertise. Their focus is on Motor Neurone Disease\, respiratory diseases\, paediatric oncology and antimicrobial resistance. They have a track record of providing seed funding of £350m. \nDavid Peddy\, Managing Director\, SIGH Ltd \nAfter a corporate career in sales and marketing at AC Nielsen\, MÖLNLYCKE and Meadox\, David worked with medical device businesses such as Surgicraft\, AMBA Medical and Zeppelin. He is an experienced businessman with extensive knowledge of marketing\, promotion\, pricing\, corporate lawyers and business acquisition. David is now a business advisor and helps with growth plans as well as assisting and mentoring in their sale process.
