DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back mental health trainer Liz Maughn for a two day mental health first aid course.  \nMHFA is the mental health equivalent of physical first aid training.  \nThe course is ideal for those who would like to: \n– Gain the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health\n– Be confident starting a conversation and signposting a person to appropriate support\n– MHFA Instructors are trained by MHFA England to deliver this internationally recognised course. Instructors are subject to ongoing quality assurance\, using robust assessment and – evaluation measures.\n– The course is very interactive with lots of activities and discussion\, and is aimed at delivering very practical skills.\n– Benefits of our Mental Health First Aid course\n– Gives you increased confidence to have a supportive conversation about mental health\n– Reduces stigma around mental health\n– Promotes equity and understanding around mental health from different perspectives\n– Helps to build supportive communities and promotes open conversations about mental health\n– Encourages self-care\, giving you the tools to look after your own and others’ mental health\n– Promotes early intervention\, which can prevent mental health from deteriorating\n– Provides ongoing support for Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) for 3 years via the MHFAider Supporter App® \n​\nWe believe that mental health is just as important as physical health\, and we are committed to supporting our community members in their mental health journeys. Matthew Walls\, CEO of GENinCode\, will share his journey of transitioning from a private to a public company through an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Meanwhile\, Andrew Luers\, Co-Founder and CEO of Habitat Energy\, will discuss the growth of his company that eventually led to its acquisition by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners in 2021. \nSpeakers: \nAndrew Luers\, Co-Founder & CEO\, Habitat Energy \nBefore founding Habitat Energy\, Andrew helped to start a lead software and data company\, serving the US healthcare industry. Previous to that he was a Principle at BCG\, advising distributed energy business models and acquisition in the UK and US. He has a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from MIT and PhD in Physics from the University of Oxford. \nMatthew Walls\, CEO\, GENinCode \nMatthew became CEO of GENinCode on incorporation in 2018. Prior to that he was CEO and Executive Chairman of Atlantis Healthcare\, an international patient behavioural change company\, and CEO of Epistem Holdings plc\, a personalized medicine and diagnostics company\, which was listed on AIM in 2017. He started his career at ICI\, helping to lead its transition to AstraZenica where he became Global Commercial Director. He is a qualified accountant and studied at Manchester University.

The car park will be staffed by a team of security guards and will close at 1:30 am. Guests who wish to retrieve their cars the next day can do so starting from 8 am. It’s important to note that the designated taxi pick-up point at the end of the evening will be outside the Clerici Building on Gipsy Lane exclusively.

During the summer holidays many families face increased financial difficulty. Many families can lean on free school meals during term time\, the absence of this safety net in the summer holidays can pose significant difficulties for many households. \nIn 2022 Witney and West Oxfordshire Foodbank provided 5753 People with three-day emergency food packages and assistance to individuals facing crises in the UK\, 2\,352 of these being for children. Marcus Exall\, a partner at Endeavour\, a renowned M&A advisory business\, and Andy Maher\, the managing partner of Endeavour’s M&A practice\, will share their insights on successful growth strategies\, acquisitions\, and business exit. \nSpeakers: \nMarcus Exall\, Partner\, Endeavour \nMarcus is a serial entrepreneur\, investor and board advisor. He was part of the early wave of digital pioneers after a career in marketing in both London and Tokyo. He built a successful digital agency\, exiting to IPG in 2011. Since his first exit\, he has been involved in building many successful tech businesses\, either as an investor\, founder or operator. He is a former Omnicom COO for Asia Pacific\, based in Tokyo and was instrumental in the rapid expansion of the region and in the enhancement of the region’s strategy\, professionalism and profitability. In addition to 4 years in Asia\, Andy spent 5 years in senior financial leadership roles within Omnicom across the UK and US. \nAside from other international corporate finance roles\, Andy has founded\, run and exited three stand-alone businesses across various sectors in London and Tokyo. With over 25 years’ experience in the media and marketing industry\, working and living in four continents\, Andy is well positioned to provide effective and culturally nuanced strategic advice to his clients. \nAndy started his career as an accountant in Australia; his first international role was in investment banking with Salomon Brothers\, (London) now known as Citibank. He graduated from Griffith University\, in Brisbane\, Australia. \nMatt Brown\, Co-Founder\, Quorbit\, an enterprise Workforce Planning software solution\, will talk about the acquisition of his company by US tech company UKG and his dilemma about whether to sell or grow. \nWith over 20 years’ experience in assisting businesses justify\, design\, implement and realise benefits from enterprise technology solutions\, Matt co-founded Quorbit in late 2016. A niche software solution\, Quorbit makes workload budgeting & capacity planning for large-scale businesses simple. Through 2020 & 2022 the company secured three large enterprise contracts with multi-year supply agreements in the retail and hospitality sectors and in November 2022 the company was acquired by UKG having spent 2022 considering both Exit and VC investment routes.
