DESCRIPTION:On December 12th please join us in this simple fundraiser. Proudly wear your Christmas jumper or top in exchange for a suggested donation of £2\, knowing that you are helping to take the charity one step further to finding a cure for AT and to providing essential support and care for children\, young adults and their families whose lives have been shattered by a diagnosis. \nWhat is AT?\nAtaxia-Telangiectasia or AT\, is a rare and complex genetic disorder\, affecting a number of different systems within the body. It gives increasing physical disability\, while deficiencies in the immune system can lead to frequent colds and infections and the gradual emergence of lung problems. There is an increased risk of cancers\, particularly leukaemia and lymphoma\, while sensitivity to radiation means that radio-therapy should be avoided and x-rays kept to a minimum.
