Witney BIC September Round-Up

September has been a busy month at Witney Business & Innovation Centre.

From welcoming new businesses into the centre to celebrating the first birthday of The Wire and officially launching our brand-new Business Lounge, there has been plenty happening across the building.

So, before we head into October, here’s a little look back at what’s been going on at Witney BIC this month.

Welcome to our newest businesses

One of the best parts of being a business centre is seeing new faces arrive and watching our community continue to grow.

This month, we’ve welcomed MGI Engineering Ltd, Illusion Artworks and Sunnyblue Ltd to Witney BIC.

We officially launched our upgraded Business Lounge

September was also the month we finally got to celebrate something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while – the official launch of our upgraded Business Lounge.

On Thursday 24 September, we opened the doors for our Business Lounge Launch & Networking Evening.

The evening brought together businesses from inside and outside the centre for drinks, light bites, networking and a chance to explore the new space.

We also had some brilliant businesses showcasing what they do, giving everyone plenty of reasons to stop, chat and find out more.

And, because this is Witney BIC, it wouldn’t have been a proper event without a few unexpected conversations, plenty of coffee and even some rather impressive technology making an appearance!

The Business Lounge has been created to give businesses a flexible alternative to working from home, with comfortable hot-desking, and access to meeting rooms.

It’s also about creating somewhere people can work, meet other businesses and feel part of a community.

The Wire turns one

September also marked a very special milestone for The Wire, our innovation community, which has now been bringing people together for a whole year.

Over the past 12 months, The Wire has created opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and people interested in innovation to connect, share ideas and learn from one another.

It’s been fantastic to see the community develop and to have conversations around technology, innovation and the businesses helping to shape what comes next.

One year in, The Wire continues to be about something quite simple: bringing our innovation community together.

Keeping the networking going

Our Oxfordshire Business Collective networking event returned to the centre in September, with Carolyn Nicholson talking about getting started with AI.

The event brought together local business owners for networking, followed by the opportunity to stay and work from the Business Lounge for the rest of the day.

And, of course, there was coffee…

We introduced the ‘Coffee Wall Chat’, giving our community the extremely important task of helping us decide which coffee should be making the cut!

Because if we’re going to keep everyone caffeinated, we might as well find out what everyone actually likes.

It’s small things like this that help make the centre feel a little more personal – and we’re always keen to hear what our customers would like to see, drink, eat and get involved with.

It’s been a particularly busy few months for office moves at Witney BIC, and we’re pleased to say that all of our larger office spaces have now been taken! 🎉

We do still have a few smaller offices available, suitable for 1–4 people, so if you’re a small business, start-up or growing team looking for your own space, there are still opportunities to join our community.

Our offices offer a professional place to work without the commitment of taking on a much larger space than you actually need. And, as your business grows, there’s always the possibility of looking at a different space within the centre when the time comes.
