Witney BIC Raises £250 for Macmillan
Community Comes Together for Macmillan Coffee Morning at Witney BIC
There’s nothing quite like a good cup of coffee to bring people together – especially when it’s for a great cause. On the 25th of September, the Witney Business & Innovation Centre community gathered for a Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising an impressive £250 in just a few hours to support those affected by cancer.
The event was filled with conversation, laughter, and, of course, plenty of coffee and cake. We were incredibly grateful to receive donations from No 14 Café and UE Coffee, whose contributions helped make the morning extra special. Many of our members also baked, donated, and joined in – showing the true spirit of our community.
We were delighted to welcome some very special guests, including the Witney Radio team, who helped share the buzz of the event, and Witney’s local MP, Charlie Maynard, who stopped by to show his support. Their presence added to the sense of local pride and connection that filled the centre.
Together, we proved that small acts – a slice of cake here, a coffee there – can have a big impact. The funds raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping provide vital care and resources to people living with cancer across the UK.
Next Up: Clothing Drive for Apollo Clothing
Our next community initiative focuses on helping those in need through a clothing collection for Apollo Clothing, a UK-based charity that works to reduce clothing poverty and waste. Apollo takes pre-loved, good-quality clothing and redistributes it to individuals and families who need it most – ensuring every donation makes a meaningful difference.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be setting up a collection point at the centre for anyone who’d like to donate clean, wearable clothing. It’s a simple yet powerful way to support others and make sustainability part of everyday life.
A Huge Thank You
We’re so proud of everyone who took part in our coffee morning — from those who donated and baked to our wonderful local partners and guests. Your generosity and enthusiasm make all the difference.
Let’s keep that spirit alive as we move into our next charity drive. Together, we can continue to make positive change happen right here in Witney.
